The adsorbent should have the characteristics of being porous, strong in activity and strong in acid absorption, so as to adsorb moisture, peroxygen compounds, organic acids, carbonyl groups, etc. in the oil, which are harmful to transformers and oil. They are spherical and rod-shaped irregular porous solid materials, and have the following requirements for their properties:
1 water absorption rate > 20%;
2 acid absorption> 5mg (KOH) / g (silica gel);
3 moisture content <0.5%;
4 appearance is milky white.
Therefore, the adsorbent should be dried and sieved before being added to the oil purifier.
The amount of adsorbent is determined by the total mass of the oil. When using acid-removing silica gel, it is about 0.75% to 1.25% of the total mass of the oil, the smaller capacity transformer uses a large number; the large-capacity transformer uses a small number. When activated alumina is used, it is about 0.5% of the total mass.
